It’s time to Screen-time smarter!
Have some fun while you exercise your memory, brain and eyes with DualFocus. You can play any of a variety of our edutaining games solo or in multi-player mode.. and even create your own games.
Two Screens:
The unique MatchFlash game format uses your phone and computer simultaneously to help you practice world language lessons, basic math, and problem-solving skills, while naturally exercising and refocusing your eyes, adding an eye-healthy twist to your screen-time. Competition is added when you change the speed of the game, and play with friends and classmates.. and that engagement means youll be playing longer, exercising your eyes while learning AND having fun.
Sure, exercising your brain is important… but why two screens?
Simply refocusing between your phone and computer has the added benefit of helping to avoid Digital Eye Strain (DES). With work, school and socializing, the average American spends more than 10 hours per day focused on screens (the Nielsen Company Audience report). Research shows that between 50 and 90% of people who work with computers and students have some symptoms of Digital Eye Strain, (the most common of which are stinging eyes and headaches). It has also been described as “Carpel tunnel syndrome of the eyes”.
Using Screens to relieve the effects of screen time?
Rather than running away from your screens, DualFocus lets you use them differently to avoid DES. Based on the American Optometric Association recommendation of repetitively focusing away from, and back to your screen for 20 seconds every 20 min. We took that recommendation to the next level and made DualFocus.
The DualFocus idea was first conceived of and executed to help young school children with deteriorating vision over 20 years ago, before smartphones and apps even existed. With the advent of smartphones, apps and our focus on screen based activities, we have adapted DualFocus into an app based game that anyone can play, even with friends that are miles away. DualFocus is designed so that your eyes will naturally refocus between two screens while playing, providing a fun and simple way relax to your eyes!
MatchFlash games
But it’s not just about exercising your eyes, DualFocus works like a flashcard game across both of your screens to exercise your memory, cognitive skills and eye-hand reaction times. Numerous DualFocus games let you practice world languages, reinforce basic math skills and vocabulary exercises like word scrambles, homonyms and other vocabulary games.
